About DAVID BYRD

David has been creating posters since his days at The Fillmore East in NYC where he created the famed 1968 Jimi Hendrix poster now in the collection of MOMA, NYC. As well, he created the poster for The Rolling Stones 1969 Tour, TOMMY by The Who '70, The Grateful Dead '73, & the legendary 1969 Woodstock Poster. He quickly moved on to Broadway, where he created images for Follies, Godspell, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hot L Baltimore, The Magic Show,

& Little Shop of Horrors amongst many others. He has had Retrospective Exhibits in LA, NYC, Seattle, Woodstock, The Ringling Museum FL, Berlin & Zurich. His work is in the Design Collections of MOMA, NYC; Museum of Rock, Cleveland; Victoria & Albert, London; Musée des Bellerives, Zurich; & the Musée des Artes Decoratif, Louvre, Paris. He lives in Silver Lake with his partner of 33 years.
